Valladolid Airport

Valladolid Airport

The airport is 13 kilometers northwest of Valladolid. Thanks to the arrival of budget airline Ryanair the number of passengers has strongly increased. The airport processes about half a million travelers per year.

Train

There is no train connection with the airport.

Car and Bus

The airport is along the N-601 (Léon–Valladolid), this road has a sharp hair pin turn at the runway. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.

There are three bus connections from the airport. The buses from Valladolid to Léon and Madrid stop at the airport, but you must reserve a place on the website in advance. The other two bus lines maintain connections with the airport and Valladolid, these buses leave three times per day, at 15:15, 16:15 and 19:20.

Valladolid Airport is small and has a very limited range of shops, restaurants and bars. You can find one cafe, one restaurant and a shop with tobacco products, alcohol, newspapers and magazines.

There is a general information counter in the Central Hall. The Chamber of Commerce in Valladolid is also represented in the Central Hall.

Valencia Airport

Valencia Airport

Valencia Airport has been considerably developed over the last years. Since 1995 the number of passengers more than doubled. In 2005, more than 4.5 million people flew through Valencia Airport. This is especially because of the arrival of budget airlines such as EasyJet. Also, the fact that Costa Blanca, south of Valencia, is increasingly more, a popular location for a second house.

The airport is eight kilometers west of Valencia.

Local Transport

Train

Valencia Airport has no train connection. Valencia Airport has an excellent metro connection that offers a frequent timetable to the center of Valencia.

Car and bus

You leave the airport via the N220 that leads to highway A3 (Madrid-Valencia) and highway A7, the A7 is the coast road to the south, Alicante.

For bus transportation to Valencia you have the choice of two lines. The Aero-Bus takes you directly to the center of Valencia. Between 06:00 and 22:00 buses leave every 20 minutes. Local bus line 150 also connects the airport with Valencia, but this line stops at many more places, the last bus leaves at 23:15.

On the ground floor of the Arrivals Hall there are five car rental companies represented: Avis, Centauro, Europa Rent-a-Car, Europcar and Hertz.

Taxi

Taxis are in front of the exit of the Arrivals Hall. The price is dependent on the time.

The most important parking area P1 is right in front of the terminal building.

Shops and restaurants

The airport does not have an extensive range of bars and shops and restaurants are completely absent, but you can eat something in one of the four bars/coffee shops. There are six shops, including one Duty Free shop.

You can report misplaced baggage at the counter for Iberhandling in the Arrivals Hall. You cannot store baggage at Valencia Airport.

Information

There are general information counters in the Arrivals Hall and Departures Hall. The Tourism Bureau can be found in the Arrivals Hall.

Business

There is a large meeting room available, the Salón de actos Rafael Martínez Esteve, the room has a capacity for 80 people, but can be divided into two rooms. In addition there is a small meeting room with a capacity for 8-10 people.

Valencia Airport has two lounges: Juan Olivert and the VIP-lounge, which are next to each other. The VIP-lounge can be rented for small meetings, for a maximum of 8 people. Airline company Iberia has its own lounge.

Disabled facilities

The airport has not been entirely adapted for the disabled, but there is hard work being done for the construction of adapted elevators, restrooms and wheelchair ramps.

On the first level of the Departures Hall you can find a money exchange office, there are also ATM’s. On the second level there is a silence center.

Tenerife South – Reina Sofia Airport

Tenerife South - Reina Sofia Airport

Reina Sofia is the largest and busiest airport in Tenerife where many vacation flights arrive and depart. In the north part of the island there is a small airport, Los Rodeos, that is mainly used for flights to other Canary Islands and to the Spanish mainland.

The airport is 60 kilometers southwest of the capital Santa Cruz and 16 kilometers east of Playa de Las Américas. The airport processes nine million passengers per year.

Local Transport

Train

There are no trains operating in Tenerife.

Car and bus

The airport is directly along the highway del Sur, TF-1, that together with the highway del Norte almost forms a ring road. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.

The stops for five bus lines are in front of the Arrivals Hall: line 340 goes to Puerto de la Cruz, line 341 to Santa Cruz, lines 487 and 470 to Playa de Las Américas and line 464 to Granadilla.

You can find counters in the Central Hall for car rental companies: Autos Reisen, Avis, Cicar, Europcar Betacar, Hertz and Record.

Taxis are outside the terminal.

There is a good range of shops, restaurants and bars. There are seven snack bars and cafes, seven restaurants and a large number of shops. Be advised: the Canary Islands have a separate status, there are limits on the export of tobacco and alcohol. The prices are significantly lower than on the Spanish mainland.

You can go to the general information counter in the Central Hall for lost and found items. You cannot store baggage.

You can find the Montaña Roja VIP Lounge on the first level, this lounge can be arranged in several ways for meetings and conferences, there are also facilities such as fax, telephone and computers with internet access.

Seville (San Pablo) Airport

Seville San Pablo Airport

Seville Airport is an airport especially for domestic flights (almost 80%). But the number of international flights is increasing especially with the arrival of the budget airline Ryanair. The well known and reputable airline, British Airways, also flies out of Seville. The number of passengers at the airport has increased by 15% per year. In 2005 Seville Airport processed almost three million travelers. There are improvements being made in the facilities to take care of the growing number of passengers.

The terminal building was opened in 1991 and architect Rafael Moneo put emphasis on the local culture, a mixture of Spanish and Moorish influences. Orange trees are planted in front of the building.

The airport is ten kilometers northeast of Seville, the capital of Andalusia.

Local Transport

Train

There is no train connection with the airport. High speed trains leave from Santa Justa train station in Seville to many destinations in Spain.

Car and bus

The airport is along highway A4 that connects Seville with Cordoba and Madrid. The exit to the airport is at the kilometer pole numbered 532. From the south (Cadiz) you follow the SE-30 to the A4. Jerez, Málaga, Huelva and places in southern Portugal are easily accessible from the airport.

Between 06:15 and 23:00 the bus company Los Armillos leaves every 30 minutes to the center of Seville (Plaza de Armas bus station), the ride takes 20-30 minutes.

There are five car rental companies: Atesa, Avis, Crown Car Hire, Europcar and Hertz.

Taxi

Taxis are in front of the terminal building. A ride to Seville takes 15 minutes.

Seville Airport is a small airport and does not have many stores yet. There is a large Aldeasa Duty Free shop. There are two snack bars, one for passengers and one for all visitors at the airport. In the Departures Hall there is a self-service restaurant and a tapas restaurant, the restaurants are adjacent to the open-air terrace El Mirador.

Baggage

There is a window for misplaced baggage in the Arrivals Hall. You cannot store baggage.

Information

There is a counter for the Tourist Bureau in the Arrivals Hall, Junta de Andalucía. There is a general information counter on the first level of the Departures Hall.

Seville Airport has one conference room available that is a decent size which can hold a maximum 140 people.

There are two VIP lounges, one from Iberia and one from Aena.

Santiago de Compostela Airport

Santiago de Compostela Airport is ten kilometers northeast of the city. The airport processed almost two million passengers in 2006. Work is being done quickly in the coming years to expand the terminal facilities.

There is no train connection with the airport.

Car and Bus

The airport is easily accessible via the N-547, this is the road between Santiago de Compostela and Lugo. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.

There are three bus lines from the airport. Buses from the company Freire connect the airport with Plaza de Galicia in Santiago via Dr. Texeiro, Avenida de Lugo train station, the bus station and San Lázaro. Freire also goes to the bus station in Lugo. Autocares Travidi leaves once per day at 11:30, to the Hotel Atlántico in A Coruña.

Santander Airport

Santander Airport is also called Parayas. The airport is located near the town of Camargo on the Spanish north coast. In recent years the airport has grown rapidly after the arrival of low-cost airlines. The modernized airport handles one million passengers annually.

Local Transport

Train

There is no direct train to the airport, but there is a regular bus service to the Santander railway station. From this station there are regular trains to Madrid and Valladolid.

Car and Bus

The airport is located about 5 kilometers south of Santander and about 100 kilometers from Bilbao. Take the A8 from the airport to Santander or Bilbao.

Every half an hour there is a bus to Santander Center, the trip takes 15 minutes. There are also intercity bus services (ALSA) to several cities, such as Bilbao, Oviedo and Santiago de Compostela. ALSA also offers a night bus service to Madrid. One of its stops is Madrid Barajas Airport’s terminal 4.

Reus Airport

Reus Airport is located on the Costa Dorada (Catalonia) near Reus in the province of Tarragona. In recent years, the airport has grown extensively with the arrival of low-cost airlines and handles about one million passengers annually. Many tourists choose Reus for its convenient location on the Spanish coast. Towns, such as Salou and Cambrils are situated near the airport and Barcelona is located only 75 kilometers from Reus.

Local Transport

Train

There is no direct train to the airport. The Reus railway station is situated only a few kilometers from the airport. Nearly every coastal town on the Costa Dorada has a train station. Salou, Cambrils, Tarragona, Mont Roig de Camp, Calafell and Torredembarra are on the railway track to Barcelona. There is also a bus service, which goes from Reus Airport to Barcelona’s biggest railway station, the Estació de Sants (see below).

Car and bus

The airport is located on the N-420 (T11), about 14 kilometers from Tarragona Center.

Several bus services run from the airport (in front of the arrival hall). For example, there is a bus to Barcelona Hispano Igualadina. In an hour and a half it will take you to the city’s train station Estació de Sants or the Plaza Maria Christina. Tickets are for sale on the bus. There is also a bus to Tarragona and a bus to the holiday destinations of Salou and Cambrils.

Bus 50 runs to the Reus bus station and Renfe train station for instance. Bus departure times are aligned with flight arrivals.

Palma de Mallorca Airport

Palma de Mallorca Airport

The airport of Mallorca, officially called Son Sant Joan, is one of the busiest airports in Spain. In the busiest months of July and August it is the busiest airport in the country. There is one terminal but is subdivided into four halls (A, B, C and D).

Local Transport

Train

There is no train connections at the airport. From Palma there are two train services, the customary tour and the tourist tour. A ride with the old wooden train to Puerto de Sóller is a must for most tourists. The usual train rides from Palma to Inca and further to Sa Pobla and Manacor.

Car and Bus

The airport is eight kilometers east of Palma de Mallorca. From the city you follow the direction of Santanyí. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.

Outside the Arrivals Hall (Exit D) is the bus stop. Bus line 1 goes to the center of Palma (Paseo Mallorca) in approximately 30 minute and to Porto Pí.

In Departures Hall A and C there are large Aldeasa stores that sell cigarettes, perfumes, wines and liquors.

By the check-in counters and in the Arrivals Hall there are information kiosks. The employees are recognizable by their blue jacket, they can also be found walking around the terminal building.

North Tenerife Los Rodeos Airport

North-Tenerife is also called Los Rodeos. This small airport is located in the town of Laguna. Los Rodeos handles about 4 million passengers annually. These are mainly domestic flights from the Spanish mainland and flights to other Canary Islands. Tenerife South-Reina Sofia airport is Los Rodeos´ big sister and is located in the south of the island.

The airport is located about 11 kilometers from Tenerife´s capital Santa Cruz. The airport is situated on the highway TF 5.

There is a regular bus service (in front of the terminal) which goes to several places on the island. Bus 102 goes to Puerto de la Cruz. Bus 107′s final destination is Buenavista. Bus 108 goes to Icod de los Vinos. Bus 340 goes to the airport in south Tenerife.

Murcia – San Javier Airport

Murcia – San Javier Airport

The passenger numbers at Murcia-San Javier Airport have strongly increased in the last years, thanks to the arrival of budget airlines. In 2006, the airport processed 1.6 million passengers, and it was about half that number in 2004! The service level is by far, not designed for this increase, there are many complaints from travelers concerning this service. Meanwhile, there is talk about building a completely new airport for Murcia.

Local Transport

Train

There is no train connection with the airport.

Car and Bus

The airport is 45 kilometers southeast of Murcia and three kilometers from San Javier along the AP-7 (Cartagena–Alicante), this is a toll road. The coastal road N-332 connects to all the popular seaside resorts and golf resorts on the Mar Menor coast, such as Torrevieja and La Manga. From San Javier the airport is accessible via the F-31.

A bus leaves only three times per day, Latbus, number 73 between the airport and Murcia. The departure times from the airport to Murcia are 17:45, 19:15 and 22:45. From Murcia to the airport, the bus leaves at 13:00, 15:15 (only Monday, Friday and Saturday) and 17:30.
